How Contact Center AI Can Transform the Audi Customer Journey
How Contact Center AI Can Transform the Audi Customer Journey
Contact Center AI has the potential to transform customer service from a sequence of disconnected conversations into one continuous, intelligent experience.
AUDI AG and Nouveau Riche Group are working together on AI software for customer experience and customer contact. Nouveau Riche Group supports the collaboration as an adviser and development partner, applying artificial intelligence and secure software engineering to the realities of premium automotive service.
Why traditional automation creates friction
Many automated service systems ask customers to translate their needs into the organisation’s internal structure. Callers navigate menus, repeat information and move between channels that do not share sufficient context. This can make even a straightforward question feel difficult.
Modern AI changes the starting point. Instead of forcing the customer to select the correct department, the system can interpret what the customer is trying to achieve. It can identify relevant information, support an appropriate next action and prepare context for a human colleague if the conversation requires expertise or judgement.
Understanding intent rather than keywords
Customer language is rarely standardised. A driver may describe a warning, function or service need without using the exact terminology found in a manual. Effective Contact Center AI must therefore understand intent, relationships and context—not simply match individual words.
This capability can make support more accessible, particularly when customers are unfamiliar with technical language. It can also help distinguish between an informational question, an urgent operational concern and a request that requires identity verification or specialist intervention.
Supporting, not hiding, the human expert
The strongest use of AI is not necessarily a conversation that never reaches a person. Some situations require empathy, authority, commercial discretion or technical investigation. The system should recognise those boundaries and create a well-informed handover.
When a human specialist receives the customer’s relevant context, the customer does not need to begin again. AI can also help the specialist find approved information and document the interaction consistently. This allows people to concentrate on the parts of service where human expertise matters most.
Accuracy is part of the premium experience
A confident but incorrect answer is not an improved customer experience. Contact Center AI must rely on trusted knowledge, respect permissions and communicate uncertainty appropriately. Answers should be traceable to controlled sources, and sensitive actions should require the correct verification.
This is especially important in automotive service, where a question may relate to safety, vehicle operation, personal information or a contractual service. The design must establish what the AI may answer, what it may initiate and when it must escalate.
The collaboration with AUDI AG
Within the collaboration, Nouveau Riche Group has developed an AI tool for customer experience and customer contact and is continuing development toward automotive use. Pascal van den Essenburg, CEO of Nouveau Riche Group, represents the group’s strategic and technical involvement.
The work reflects a shared objective: make customer interaction more natural without weakening control, privacy or service quality. It is a foundation for a customer journey that can extend from initial contact to the connected vehicle.
